Membership Levels
Membership Levels is where you configure the membership tiers the portal sells — their names and prices — and the family add-on. This is different from Memberships, which lists the actual memberships people hold. Levels are the menu; memberships are the orders.
Used by: Admin and Super Admin.
Levels vs memberships
- Membership Levels (this page) define what a member can buy: the three tiers (Gateway, Crossroads, Patron) and the family add-on, each with a price. Change something here and it changes what shows on the portal's membership page.
- Memberships are the records of who currently holds what. Editing a level does not change memberships already sold.
Because levels drive pricing and public display, keep changes deliberate. If you are unsure, check with Andrew before editing a live tier.
The three tiers
The portal sells three membership tiers on its grid:
- Gateway — entry tier.
- Crossroads — middle tier.
- World Horizon Patron — top tier, with perks such as a free class and patron events.
Each tier has a base price. Prices are stored in cents internally but you enter them as normal dollar amounts.
The family add-on
The family add-on is sold separately from the three-tier grid, in the portal's family section, and lets a member add family slots to their membership. It is configured as its own level with its own price. It does not appear on the main tier grid.
Creating or editing a level
- Go to https://admin.uibeta.org/admin/membership-levels.
- To edit, click a level. To add one, use New (the + button).
- Set the name and base price. For the family add-on, set the add-on price and description.
- Save.
You can also activate or deactivate levels, and delete them. Deactivating hides a level from sale without removing it, which is safer than deleting when you just want to take something off the menu for a while.
Editing a live tier affects the public portal
Price and name changes here show up immediately on the portal's membership page. Memberships already sold keep their original terms, but anyone buying after your change pays the new price.
