Notification Preferences

Notification Preferences control which staff members receive which admin alert emails. Instead of every alert going to one shared inbox, each type of alert can be routed to the specific people who handle it.

Used by: Super Admin (Settings). Found at https://admin.uibeta.org/admin/settings/notifications.

How routing works

The page is a grid of every staff member down the side and alert categories across the top, each with an on/off switch. The rule is simple:

  • If at least one staff member has a category switched on, that category's emails go to those people.
  • If every staff member has a category switched off, those emails fall back to the default admin emails set in Email Config.

So turning a category on for someone narrows delivery to the people who opted in. Leaving a category off for everyone keeps the old behavior of sending to the shared default.

The categories

CategoryWhat it sends
MembershipsNew offline membership orders and offline-order expiry alerts.
EventsNew community event submissions awaiting review.
ClassesNew class enrollments and the automatic instructor-membership grant alert (fired when a class hits its minimum enrollment).
ScholarshipsNew scholarship applications to review.
Daily DigestThe once-a-day summary of pending items.

Classes covers the instructor auto-grant alert

The alert that fires when a class reaches minimum enrollment and teachers get their complimentary membership rides on the Classes category. If nobody has Classes switched on, that alert only reaches the default admin emails. Turn Classes on for whoever should be told when it happens (for example the language school manager). See Instructors.

Changing who gets what

  1. Go to https://admin.uibeta.org/admin/settings/notifications.
  2. Find the staff member's row and the category column.
  3. Toggle the switch. Changes save immediately.

Only staff (Admin, Super Admin, Instructor) appear here — assign someone a staff role first if they are missing. The default admin emails used for fallback are set under Settings → Email Config.
