Family Members
If your membership allows it, you can add family members (for example a spouse or child) to your household. They get member benefits under your account. This page explains what the family feature is, how to add people, send invitation links, and manage your household.
What the Family Feature Is
The family feature links other people in your household to your membership. Each person has their own login, but they are tied to your membership so they can get member pricing on classes and events and any other member benefits. There is usually an extra fee per family member (family add-on). Not all membership tiers include family add-ons; check your tier on the membership page or in your account.
How to Add a Family Member
- Log in and go to My Account (https://ui-portal.fly.dev/account).
- Open Family (or go to https://ui-portal.fly.dev/account/family).
- Click Add family member (or similar).
- Enter the person’s name and email address. Submit the form.
- An invitation is sent to that email. The invitation contains a link the person must click to accept.
Until they accept the invitation, they will not be linked to your membership. You can send the invitation again from the family page if needed.
What the Invited Person Receives and How to Accept
The person you invite gets an email with a link (for example https://ui-portal.fly.dev/invitation/... with a unique token).
- They open the email and click the link.
- If they already have an account: they sign in when prompted. They are then linked to your household.
- If they do not have an account: they are asked to create one (email and password). After they finish, they are linked as a family member.
Once they have accepted, they appear under My Account → Family on your account, and they can use member benefits (such as member pricing) when logged in.
Managing Family Members
- Viewing — Go to My Account → Family to see everyone linked to your membership. You can see names and status (for example whether they have accepted the invitation).
- Removing — If your plan allows it, there may be an option to remove a family member (for example Remove or Unlink). Removing them stops their member benefits under your account. If you do not see this option, contact staff to make the change.
Policies for adding or removing family members (and any fees) are set by Upstate International. If you have questions about limits or billing, contact staff.
How Family Affects Membership Pricing
Adding a family member usually incurs an extra fee (family add-on) that may be charged when you add them or at renewal. Member pricing for classes and events applies to family members once they are linked and have accepted the invitation. The main account holder (you) remains responsible for the membership; family members do not have a separate membership tier, they share yours.
