Claiming Your Account
Welcome! If you received an email inviting you to claim your Upstate International Member Portal account, you're in the right place. Claiming your account is a quick, one-time step that lets you set your own password and start using the portal to manage your membership, sign up for classes, and register for events.
This page walks you through it and answers the questions we hear most often.
How to Claim Your Account
We (or someone in your household) set up an account for you, and now it's yours to finish. Here's how:
- Open the invitation email from Upstate International. The subject line will mention claiming or setting up your account.
- Click the button or link in the email. It takes you to a secure page on the Member Portal.
- Choose your password. You may also be asked to confirm your name or email. Pick a password you'll remember.
- Submit the form. That's it — your account is claimed.
From now on, you'll sign in with your email address and the password you just set. Bookmark the portal so it's easy to come back to.
One and done
You only need to claim your account once. After that, just log in normally with your email and password whenever you visit.
"My Link Expired" or "I Didn't Get the Email"
No worries — this is easy to fix.
If your link expired: For security, claim links are only good for a limited time. If you click yours and see a message that it has expired, you don't need to do anything special — just ask us for a fresh one (see below).
If the email never arrived: First, check your spam or junk folder, and search your inbox for "Upstate International." Invitation emails sometimes land there. If you still can't find it, we're happy to send another.
To request a new link: Contact Upstate International staff and let us know you need a new claim invitation. We'll send a fresh email to your address so you can finish setting up your account.
Members vs. Family Members
There are two kinds of portal accounts, and both are claimed the same way:
- Member accounts belong to the person who holds the membership. If you joined or renewed with Upstate International, this is you.
- Family member accounts are for people added to a household membership — for example a spouse, partner, or child. If someone in your family added you, you'll get your own invitation email and your own login. You get member benefits under that household's membership, but your account is still your own.
Either way, the steps above are the same: open the email, click the link, set your password.

"I Used to Log In on the Old Upstate International Website"
If you were a member on our previous website, welcome back! Your membership came with you — we've moved to a brand-new Member Portal, and your invitation email is how you set it up.
Your old website password won't carry over, so use the claim link in your invitation to choose a new one. Once you've done that, you'll log in on the new portal from now on. Same Upstate International, same membership — just a fresher, friendlier home for it all.
